Ideally located some 24 miles off the north wst coast of France and 80 miles south of the UK. Guernsey can be access by air from numerous UK airports and via sea from Poole, Weymouth, Portsmouth or St Malo in France.
The island is approximately 24 square miles and enjoys a far milder climate to that of the south coast of England boasting well over 2,000 hours of sunshine annually.
The east coast of the island hosts the main town St Peter Port and its beautiful 17th Century Harbour and castle and offers excellent sea views out to the islands of Herm, Jethou, Sark and Alderney and the coast of Jersey and France. The highest point on the island is located around the south-east courner, namely St Martins and Forest Areas, which provide lovely cliff walks and sheltered beaches and coves. The north, south and west coasts of the island have the largest sandy beaches are home to a number of golf courses including the largest on the north coast which is testing in any condition. The Beaucette Marina provides a safe haven for larger yachts, with the St Peter Port and St Sampson’s Harbours catering for the main boating fraternity.
