Naturally activities relating to the sea are predominant: over 10,000 foreign yachts anchor annually in the St Peter Port marinas and the island boast facilities for windsurfing, fishing, water-skiing, diving as well as safe beaches for swimming and sunbathing. Golf, tennis, squash, badminton, cricket, football, rugby, bowling, softball and even American football are represented by a number of clubs and a multi-million pound leisure centre (Beau Sejour) provides facilities for virtually the whole range of sporting activities.
